Because our platform facilitates the sale of diverse products—from fresh meals to retail goods—our refund policy is tailored to the specific nature of each service.
1. Perishable Goods (Food & Groceries)
Non-Refundable Status: In accordance with industry standards, perishable goods—including prepared restaurant meals and fresh groceries—are generally non-returnable and non-refundable once the order is accepted.
Order Cancellations: Orders cannot be cancelled or refunded once the Merchant has accepted the order or started food preparation.
Quality Issues: As a facilitator, the contract for food quality and preparation is strictly between you and the Merchant. If your order is incorrect or has quality issues, please contact our support team immediately to mediate with the merchant.
2. Non-Perishable Marketplace Items
For retail and non-perishable products purchased through our dynamic marketplace:
Returns Window: We accept returns for non-perishable items within 7 days from the date of purchase.
Condition: To be eligible for a return, the item must be unused, in the same condition you received it, and in its original packaging.
Non-Returnable Items: We do not accept returns for gift cards, downloadable software, or personalized/custom-made items.
3. Damaged or Defective Items
Immediate Reporting: If an item arrives damaged or defective, please contact our support team immediately.
Resolution: We will coordinate with the merchant and delivery partner to arrange for a replacement or a full refund, depending on product availability and your preference.
4. Refunds Process
Approval: Once a return is received and inspected by the merchant, we will notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund.
Method of Payment: Approved refunds will be initiated to your original method of payment via PayHere.
Exclusions: Refund amounts typically exclude original shipping and delivery charges unless the return is due to an error by the merchant or HUNGER.
5. Return Shipping
Responsibility: You are responsible for paying the shipping costs for returning non-perishable items unless the product was defective or the wrong item was shipped.
Processing Time: Please allow 7 business days for your refund or exchange to be processed after the merchant receives the returned item.
6. Service-Specific Refunds
Transportation: No refund once the ride has commenced.
Cleaning/Repairs: No refund once work has been performed.
Tours: Partially used tour bookings are non-refundable.
7. Platform Role
HUNGER acts as a mediator in refund disputes. While we facilitate the process, final refund approval for goods rests with the Merchant as the principal party.
